Challenges while using the Excel program to calculate employee bonuses
According to the organization's motivation system, in order to calculate each employee's bonus complicated and complex calculations were performed manually in an Excel spreadsheet. For the manager of the company the bonus calculations took about 2 weeks as the company had many employees, the calculations took time, and the indicators continued to change during this time. It was extremely difficult and time-consuming task. In addition, frequent errors occurred.
In order for the motivational system to work and the motivational bonuses to be properly calculated, you need to have the most up-to-date information. When calculating manually, this cannot be ensured and what should had been a motivational system unfortunately became a demotivational system.
Power BI – a solution for efficient calculation of bonuses
To improve employee satisfaction and turnover, we developed automated analytics for a client and moved complex mathematical calculations to Power BI. Compared to Excel, Power BI improved the employee motivation system in the company in several ways:
